A couple months ago I urged my readers to send their concerns to the athletic department of Syracuse University. There were planning to cut their swim program, which follows a trend in which the smaller sports have suffered from the unintentional side effects of Title IX.
The program is not saved yet, but the Syracuse Athletic Department has agreed to extend the program long enough for the current athletes to finish their swimming careers. View the press release here
